Supporting Art Education in Colorado

YAM Flag Competition 2021-2022!!

To promote Youth Art Month, the primary requirement is to recreate the State Flag. Using the national theme, Art Connects Us, each state coordinates a flag design contest. The winning design made into a flag for display in the Youth Art Month Museum at the National Art Education Association (NAEA) annual National Convention.

The Theme for 2021-2022 Youth Art Month is

Important FAQ's

Recommended artwork size (not required): 6inches by 10inches (6"x10") or 12 inches by 20 inches (12"x20"). If you have art with different dimension that fits the theme please feel free to submit it, however it may be resized or cropped.

* If you cannot attend the CAEA Fall Conference, you may send your student work with someone with ALL correct labeling.

* Any student work that is not correctly labeled will not be hung or judged.

* Artwork dropped off for the YAM show at the Fall Conference will be taken home by the teacher, you may send someone to retrieve the work or request that it be mailed to you at your cost.

* Please understand: Copies of artwork for the YAM Capitol Show and for the NAEA Convention will be high quality reproductions. The decision to show copied work comes from the experience of managing unclaimed pieces. It is HIGHLY INCONVENIENT to manage and store unclaimed artwork.

* We are happy to work with you! Exercise good will towards those who take the time to plan and execute this show, as they also have their own programs to manage.
